The Air Brake Chamber (commonly called a brake chamber or air can) is a critical component in the air brake system of heavy-duty vehicles such as trucks, buses, trailers, and semi-trailers. It converts compressed air pressure into mechanical force to push the slack adjuster and apply the foundation brakes (typically S-cam drum brakes).

Mounted between the vehicle frame and brake assembly, the brake chamber operates using a flexible rubber diaphragm that moves a push rod when air pressure is applied. This motion activates the brake mechanism, enabling safe and reliable stopping power under various load and road conditions.
