Installation Instructions (Step-by-Step Guide)

⚠️ WARNING: Disconnect battery before working near airbag or electrical systems.

✅ Step 1: Prepare the Vehicle

  • Park on level ground, turn off ignition.

  • Disconnect both battery terminals (start with negative).

  • Wait 2–3 minutes to discharge capacitors.

✅ Step 2: Remove Airbag & Trim (if necessary)

  • If the switch is behind the steering wheel:

    • Deactivate airbag system (optional but recommended).

    • Remove steering wheel cover or disconnect airbag connector safely.

  • Avoid using metal tools that could trigger accidental deployment.

✅ Step 3: Access the Combination Switch

  • Locate the mounting bolts behind the steering column shroud.

  • Remove lower and upper trim panels carefully.

  • Take note of wire routing and clip positions.

✅ Step 4: Disconnect Electrical Harness

  • Unplug multi-pin connector(s) from the back of the switch.

  • Label wires if multiple connectors are present.

✅ Step 5: Remove Old Switch

  • Unscrew mounting bolts (usually 2–3 M6 screws).

  • Gently pull out the old switch assembly — do not force it.

✅ Step 6: Install New 811W25509-0145 Switch

  • Insert new unit into place.

  • Secure with original bolts — torque to ~8–10 N·m.

  • Reconnect all electrical connectors firmly until they click.

✅ Step 7: Reassemble & Test

  • Replace trim panels and fasteners.

  • Reconnect battery.

  • Turn key to ON position.
