⚠️ WARNING: Disconnect battery before working near airbag or electrical systems.
Park on level ground, turn off ignition.
Disconnect both battery terminals (start with negative).
Wait 2–3 minutes to discharge capacitors.
If the switch is behind the steering wheel:
Deactivate airbag system (optional but recommended).
Remove steering wheel cover or disconnect airbag connector safely.
Avoid using metal tools that could trigger accidental deployment.
Locate the mounting bolts behind the steering column shroud.
Remove lower and upper trim panels carefully.
Take note of wire routing and clip positions.
Unplug multi-pin connector(s) from the back of the switch.
Label wires if multiple connectors are present.
Unscrew mounting bolts (usually 2–3 M6 screws).
Gently pull out the old switch assembly — do not force it.
Insert new unit into place.
Secure with original bolts — torque to ~8–10 N·m.
Reconnect all electrical connectors firmly until they click.
Replace trim panels and fasteners.
Reconnect battery.
Turn key to ON position.
Test all functions:
Turn signals (left/right)
Low/high beam toggle
Flash-to-pass (pull lever toward you)
Wiper speeds (intermittent, low, high)
Washer spray
