Installation Instructions

Correct installation ensures maximum performance and safety.

✅ Pre-Installation Checks

  1. Engine Off & Cooled Down: Never work on hot engines — belts expand when heated.

  2. Inspect Pulleys & Tensioner: Check for worn grooves, bearing play, or misalignment. Replace damaged components.

  3. Clean Pulley Grooves: Remove old rubber residue, dirt, or oil contamination.

  4. Verify Replacement Match: Confirm new belt matches original in length, rib count, and thickness.

✅ Installation Steps

  1. Release the alternator mounting bolts or adjust the belt tensioner to loosen existing belt.

  2. Remove the old belt carefully.

  3. Place the new VG1500090066 (6PK783) onto the pulleys, ensuring all six ribs are fully seated into each groove.

  4. Adjust tension manually — apply moderate pressure mid-span; deflection should be 8–12 mm at 10 kg force.

  5. Re-tighten alternator brackets or auto-tensioner lock nut.

  6. Rotate the crankshaft several times by hand to ensure smooth tracking.

  7. Start engine and listen for squealing or vibration.
